Do I Need To Take My Car To The Dealership For Service?

Do I Need To Take My Car To The Dealership For Service?

If you bought your vehicle from a dealership, you may feel like you need to have it serviced there, as well. That doesn’t have to be the case! Whether you bought new or used from the dealer, you can still have your vehicle serviced at your favorite local auto shop.

Here are some things to know before you make your next service appointment at the dealership:

1. An independently owned shop provides the same services.

There are a handful of services that a dealer can do exclusively. They also can provide maintenance packages. We will gladly let you know if there is a benefit in your vehicle seeing a dealer for service, but we will be able to handle mostly all services you will need for your vehicle.

2. The manufacturer’s warranty still covers work done outside of the dealership.

By law, if your repair falls under the manufacturer’s warranty, they have to cover the repair at an independently owned shop.

3. Independently owned shops have a better understanding of the problems your vehicle faces as it ages.

Because many dealerships service and maintain a lot of newer models, you may see a benefit in taking your vehicle to a shop like Eurotechnik. We see a variety of makes, models, and ages. We have a great understanding of the nuisances of newer and older vehicles.

4. We have a better warranty.

Specifically at our shop, we have a strong warranty that we stand behind. We have a 5 year/50,000 mile warranty that trumps many dealerships.
