Brake rotors are an essential component of a vehicle’s braking system. They play a critical role in stopping the vehicle.
Brake rotors, also known as brake discs, are circular metal discs mounted on the wheel hub of a vehicle. When the brake pedal is pressed, the brake pads are forced against the brake rotors. This creates friction and slows down or stops the vehicle.
Brake rotors wear down over time due to constant friction, heat, and wear and tear. When this happens, they need replacing. Signs of worn brake rotors include: squeaking or grinding noises when applying the brakes, vibration or pulsation in the brake pedal or steering wheel, and reduced braking performance.
Regular maintenance of the braking system is essential to ensure a vehicle’s safety and optimal performance. At Eurotechnik, we include brake rotor inspection at your regular maintenance appointment.
